TOPIC: New Things You Can Do in Tagaytay

New Things You Can Do in Tagaytay 3 years, 8 months ago #1928

Tagaytay has always been a favorite go-to place for ManileƱos looking for a whiff of refreshing country air. The two-hour drive getting there is so much better than a six-hour trip, plus its proximity to Manila makes it easy for anyone to do a quick day trip, or an impulsive overnighter.

1. Go Greek.

Before booking a stay at the Hellenic Tavern Hotel, go to the mediterranean restaurant that made it famous--Mano's Greek Taverna. Both are owned and operated by Manos Sapountzakis and his Filipino wife, Estrella.

If you're totally new to Greek cuisine, try the Dolmades with Tzatziki Dip for starters, which is a dish made of Greek grape leaves, rice, onion, and Greek herbs. Follow it up with a main course of Grilled Patties (Beftekia Scaras) then end the meal with a slice of Baklava and a cup of Greek Coffee.

After enjoying your meal and if you're lucky enough to run into Manos himself, ask about the rooms, and he will gladly show you around.

SkyRanch, SM Land's newest five-hectare amusement center, has the SkyFun amusement park with the Sky Eye ferris wheel. Standing at 207 feet with 32 gondolas, the ride offers majestic views of Taal Lake and its surrounding ridges, best enjoyed with your special someone when the sun is about to set.

While not exactly in Tagaytay, a trip to the Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm will be worth your time. The farm advocates health and well-being through honeybee products such as unfiltered honey, natural bee pollen pellets, raw propolis, and fresh royal jelly, among others.

Grab a date for this fun Tagaytay itinerary you can try for the weekend!
